Wheat...West coast white wheat bids firmed on Tuesday, following the
rebound in Chicago wheat futures with the exporter bid structure being
flat into January 2027. Prices were generally in-line with prior week
numbers with the exception of hard red winter, which saw basis weaken
under Midwest harvest pressure.
Crop Progress...Hot and dry conditions nipped Pacific Northwest wheat
ratings over the past week, with the 3-state index slipping a point to
101% of average. Good to excellent ratings for winter wheat had Idaho
unchanged at 82%, Oregon down 8% to 42% and Washington off 3 points to
72%. Spring wheat ratings showed Idaho holding at 76% good to excellent
and Washington dropping 2% to 65%.
Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed wheat shipments hovered
near the 12 million bushel mark again, putting current year loadings at
20.3 million bushels and 6% behind a year ago. White wheat saw a total
of 4.9 million bushels shipped, with both hard red spring and hard red
winter each moving 2.8 million bushels. West coast exporting activity
showed 8 million bushels of wheat shipped, mostly to South Korea, along
with 18 million bushels of corn and 2.5 million of soybeans.
